My ME/CFS in Pictures

My wonderful family helped to decorate my walker with nail polish.

My sister and my 7 year old niece did most of it, but everyone contributed at least one doodle.

The turtle is my totem animal, the nut is from Chlay's Fundraising Campaign (ME: It's a Tough Nut to Crack), and the footprint is from my baby nephew. Don't worry, no one dipped his wittle foot in nail polish! My brother in law scanned his foot and used the printout of it to make a pattern.
This is Turtledog, my constant companion for the last 12 years. When I was applying for disability benefits, I was asked how I would know I was ready to go back to work. My answer was "When I can wash my own hair and walk my own dog." Turtledog is a little unsteady on steps these days, and is losing her hearing, but she's still in better shape than her mummy. And she does love her walkies, no matter who gives them to her.

  2. She's still so lively and cheerful, despite her age. We found a mobile vet who is coming on Tuesday, so we'll be talking to him about some painkillers or anti-inflammatories or something for her achy bones. I want her last years to be as comfortable as possible.

  3. Oh, so glad you found an at home vet, you know how much we have loved Dr. Manuel and what a blessing and good friend she has been thru-out the last 12 years. I agree that our fur-babies deserve the best we can do for them in return for all they do for us by just being who they are. I am in doggy heaven for the next few days 'cause I am fur-sittin for the 2 girls. I had forgotten how it feels to have a lil girl follow me around and wanting to be wherever I am. Bay is such a manly man....lol
